Why build a hospital?

Before the age of one-month-old, four times the number of babies die in the Philippines compared to developed countries. Maternal mortality is ten times higher in the Philippines compared to developed. The Philippines is making great strides in healthcare, but it will take time for this to reach those who can not afford high-quality healthcare. We wish to help bridge that gap.

And so God has placed in our heart the relentless desire to grow Hope Alive Clinic (pregnancy Clinic) into a hospital! By expanding into a small community hospital, we can serve even more indigent people with efficient and high-quality healthcare, hopefully at no/low-cost charge to those who are living hand to mouth. This hospital would be built to share the hope of Jesus with our patients, providing an atmosphere of respect and compassion for all our patients, caring holistically for our families.

How God has been working

In 2024 Hope Alive Clinic went through the process of licensing with Department of Health. This has been a great learning experience for us as we begin these processes on a smaller scale, before the larger hospital scale. God has also used this process to bring about connections with many people to journey with us beyond the clinic into the hospital.

God also worked a miracle at providing the right amount of funding for the land just as we were in a meeting trying to decide how to proceed - it's been exciting to see Him as Way Maker throughout this project! The land is being cleared ready for building, surveys being done, architects are working on plans, all while we fundraise - we continue to trust Him to bring about this project of His, for His Glory alone!
